National Future Day at the Department of Physics
The National Future Day of 8 November 2019 was a big event at ETH Zurich. Boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 13 participates in 17 different programmes this year. The successful vocational-training programme "Cool technology – hot apprenticeships in the Department of Physics" was held for the fifth time this year, with 20 children taking part.
Also this year all children have successfully assembled a kit to a flashlight and, in a joint lighting performance, let the logo of ETH Zurich shine in its best light. (Photo: ETH Zurich/D-PHYS Heidi Hostettler)
The children got a vivid insight into the activities of electronics technicians, designers, physics lab technician, and polymechanics, guided by those closest to them — the apprentices of the Department of Physics. Who knows, maybe one of the kids will apply already in three years for one of the many apprenticeships in the Department of Physics.
