New coating facility is now operational

Since June 2021, the test phase has been completed and the Laboratory Support Group of the Department of Physics has been working productively on the new coating system. The "Creamet 450 e-beam" system replaces its technologically obsolete predecessor.

The service is primarily aimed at the research groups in the Department of Physics. If there is sufficient capacity, the Laboratory Support Group will gladly serve research groups from other departments, too.

Different substrates can be coated, such as wafers, glasses, components for solder connections, and optical mirrors. For example, metals such as titanium, copper, chromium, gold, magnesium, indium, silver, and nickel as well as various oxides including aluminium oxide, silicon oxide and indium tin oxide (ITO) are coated. The Laboratory Support Group will be happy to provide further information.
