Sustainability week 2021 at the Department of Physics at ETH Zurich

Parallel to the Sustainability Week Zurich from 8 to12 March 2021, students from the Department of Physics put together a packed programme and also invited professors for a brainstorming session.

Sustainability at the D-PHYS

The researchers at D-PHYS would like to play their part on the road to CO₂ neutrality, while organising their research in a way that it is carried out successfully and sustainably. A working group led by Niklas Beisert on the topic of CO₂ emissions drew up a report with a catalog of measures, which was approved by the department on 2 October 2020 with 85% of the votes. The measures mainly concern the use of videoconferencing tools, climate-friendly travel for academic exchanges, and raising awareness for sustainability issues.

We are happy to publish activities of D-PHYS members in the Sustainability-Newsand are pleased to receive corresponding reports on .

As part of external page Nachhaltigkeits Woche Zürich, which took place from 8-13 March 2021, the Student Sustainability Commission called on professors, members of the mid-level faculty, and businesses in the Department of Physics to actively participate in the programme.
