As in 2017, the ETH spin-off IRsweep, which offers cutting-edge optical spectrometers in the mid-infrared, has been named one of the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups, as picked by a panel of 100 investors and startup experts.
The Top 100 Swiss Startup Award is running since 2011. Each year, the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups are chosen by a panel of 100 leading experts, who each nominates 10 Swiss startups less than five years old, with she or he deems to be of the greatest commercial potential. The individual rankings are then compiled to generate the final Top 100 Swiss Startup Award ranking.
Last year, the ETH spin-off IRsweep, which was founded in 2014 by the three physicists Andreas Hugi, Markus Geiser and Markus Mangold, made it for the first time onto this list. This year they repeated that feat, moving from rank 85 to rank 78.
The 100 successful startups feature also in a dedicated magazine, which is available in German, English, French and Chinese.
