16 new apprentices at the Department of Physics
On 23 August, 16 apprentices and trainees started their education at the Department of Physics. They were cordially welcomed by the Department Coordinator, followed by a barbeque.
The new apprentices were welcomed by Department Coordinator Prof. Leonardo Degiorgi, who wished them a good start and an exciting time during their training programme.
Later, a welcome barbecue followed in perfect summer weather, where the new members met the other apprentices and the instructors. Four youngsters will start their training to become a polymechanic, four joined the programme for physics lab technicians and seven aspire to become electronics technicians; in addition, there is one trainee in business administration.
This means that there are currently 54 apprentices and trainees at the Department of Physics. And there are also new faces in the team of trainers, which has been joined by Markus Strässle and Ursin Soler.
