Peer Mentoring
Two peer-mentoring schemes are available to students of the Department of Physics. It is also possible to take part in both programmes.
VMP Mentoring Programme
The Association of Mathematics, Physics and Computational Science and Engineering Students (VMP) organises a Mentoring Night at the beginning of the autumn semester each year. Here, all first-year students have the opportunity to meet students from higher semesters in a relaxed environment, who will support them as mentors in their start into ETH studies. Whether it's questions about ETH, campus life or tips for the exam phase, the mentors are happy to help their mentees with both their experience and motivation at any time.
Peer Mentoring Programme of the Department of Physics
Physics students from advanced semesters and doctoral students will mentor first-year physics students regarding questions about their studies and all aspects of life as a physics student. The programme will start with a welcoming event, followed by social events over the whole year and talks of role models from academia and industry. The goal is to build a network between students of all years and later on also the alumni.
