Engineering Office

The Engineering Office designs, develops and builds mechanical assemblies, systems and facilities for members of the Department of Physics as well as other ETH Zurich departments.

The Engineering Office defines the scope of each project with its clients. Depending on the complexity of the project, the Office provides analysis specifications, a planned schedule and a cost estimate. The Engineering Office designs exclusively in 3D with CATIA V5 and creates workshop-ready detailed drawings. After a quote request, it procures all production and purchased parts, then carries out assembly, commissioning and testing. It also offers design consulting, clarifies questions regarding material and performs engineering calculations and FEM structural analyses.
