Assembly technology on the highest level
As every year, from the end of January to mid-February polymechanics apprentices take part in the inter-company course "Assembly Technology and Pneumatics" in the mechanical-training workshop of the Department of Physics.

The inter-company course "Assembly Technology and Pneumatics" is part of the basic training course in the first two years for prospective polymechanics. The apprentices get to know the basics in assembly technology and in pneumatics. During nine course days, theoretical modules alternate with practical exercises. The contents of the course are among the topics examined at the partial examination at the end of the second year.
Through the sponsorship of the company PB Swiss Tools, the training improved significantly. Various assembly tools and several demonstration modules were provided. The Swiss company, headquartered in Wasen, supports vocational training all over Switzerland and places itself great emphasis on such training.
This cooperation creates an important foundation for quality awareness and further strengthens vocational training at ETH Zurich.
