The Group
Our group was established in 2002 as part of an expansion of astrophysics at ETH.
The group currently consists of several PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and independent Fellows as well as administrative support. We are a highly international group - with 8 nationalities represented amongst our 9 group members. Our collective astrophysical expertise ranges from taking and analyzing observational data, to running large scale numerical simulations, to pencil and paper theory. We also contribute at a non-technical level to the development of advanced instrumentation for both ground-based and space-based telescopes.
Group members are fully engaged in the education program of the Department of Physics at all levels from Introductory Physics courses to advanced specialist MSc courses.
Our main research activities are described here.
