Mentoring for Physics Students
The Department of Physics offers a peer mentoring programme for first-year students.
Students from advanced semesters and doctoral students may mentor first-year students regarding questions about their studies and all aspects of life as a physics student.
The aim of the programme is to make it easier for first-year physics students to start their studies and to network with each other and with students from higher semesters.
At a get-to-know-you aperitif at the beginning of the semester, the first-year students who participate in the programme get to know their mentors.
In addition, there are other events planned during the first semester, such as workshops on time management, mental health, and an information event about physics exams.
Accompanying the events, there is an online platform for the mentees and mentors to exchange ideas at any time. Mentees and mentors are encouraged to meet in person at least once a month, e.g. over coffee. But it is, of course, up to them to decide on their meeting frequency.
Registration Peer Mentoring Programme
The registration and access to the online communication platform are only possible with a valid ETH e-mail address.
For Mentors
We need the help of physics students and doctoral students.
We would be deligthed if you registered here.
